Buyer - Bedfordshire - Contract - Hybrid

Hamilton Appointments are working closely with their Bedfordshire based client, who are currently seeking a Buyer to join their procurement team on a contract basis.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for planning and procuring a range of goods, components and raw materials within assigned portfolio of suppliers.

Duties will include:

• Building and maintaining close working relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders and purchasing teams.
• Inventory planning and control.
• Raising, issuing and maintaining purchase orders.
• Liaise with Goods In and QA departments regarding delivery schedules.
• Supplier management and continuous improvement.
• Support the Procurement Manager to identify potential new suppliers.
• Monitor and review supplier performance.

The successful candidate will have experience within procurement and supply position, preferably within a manufacturing environment. You will also have knowledge of business management systems, ideally MRP/ERP and basicnegotiation techniques.

They offer Hybrid working, with 34.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday, 2 of which can be home based.

This position is being offered on a maternity contract basis with potential to secure a permanent contract thereafter. Our client is offering competitive salary, along with 25 days holiday + bank holidays, a Company Pension Scheme and Private Healthcare is available after a qualifying period.
