We are working closely with our client that is seeking a Resettlement Coordinator to join their team. As a Resettlement Coordinator, you will assist clients to make decisions regarding their accommodation, produce and review resettlement and safety plans and support individuals to move into independent living.


Reporting to the Resettlement Manager, duties will involve:


  • Be responsible for a caseload of clients (women, children, men and families) as directed by the Resettlement Manager, and support them into safe accommodation
  • Provide advice and guidance to clients.
  • Empower individuals to maximise their stability and independence, identify their resettlement goals and create an achievable action plan.
  • Work with individuals to secure suitable housing in an area of their choice, with flexibility to work in local authority areas outside of Bedfordshire where required.
  • Provide individuals with access to resettlement follow-up services tailored to their need
  • Develop knowledge of current programmes and support networks likely to benefit the development and progression of clients.
  • Work with relevant agencies and support services in the resettlement area to ensure that necessary support is accessible and all necessary referrals have been made ahead of any planned move. This includes health & wellbeing, education and employment needs.
  • Support residents to claim welfare benefits where appropriate e.g. housing benefit.
  • Ensure clients understand their rights and responsibilities within the service.
  • To perform appropriate health and safety checks, risk assessments and maintain records.
  • To deliver consistently exceptional services to clients, making use of new and alternative methods and practices to continuously improve service quality and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with external professionals working with the client, attending meetings/ court hearings where necessary.

Working hours are 3 days a week (18-22.5 hours). The role is being offered on a permanent contract with a salary of 21,500 - 23,500 per annum pro rata. Please only apply if you have direct experience of working with people fleeing domestic abuse, and/or resettlement. We are looking for someone with extensive experience of the processes involved.
